Outstanding Business Acumen with an incredible insight and depth of knowledge of the leadership agenda makes John a very rare and talented consultant. As the Head of the Learning & Development function for a FTSE250 company he is always my first port of call when I embark on a new initiative.

John is my most reliable coach. He regularly scores 5 out of 5 on his coaching. Long on common sense he leaves space for the person he is coaching to really get involved and take part in finding their own solutions. Excellent coaching of very intelligent and demanding clients. He gets results that are lasting. I have worked with and hired many coaches in my time – this guy is absolutely top ranked.

John is a very smart and seasoned coach and I trust him implicitly. I commissioned him to do some leadership development work for a multi-national senior management team and was very impressed with his approach, delivery and follow through. John embodies a blend of thoughtfulness, insight and warmth that is very compelling.

Read some of my thoughts on leadership and professional development
Beware where you let off steam!
February 16, 2017
Sometimes lessons from your first job, some 21 years ago, now stick with you. As a leader you’re ‘on camera’ and so is your energy – all the time!
What is the whole you are leading for?
February 16, 2017
One of the most powerful questions in FED that gets me thinking bigger is: “What is the whole that you are leading for?”
How do you make the shift from managing a part to leading for the whole?
February 16, 2017
Most leaders report that they spend more time managing than they do leading. They get caught up in the doing rather than noticing who they are being as leaders and what really matters to them and how they can bring this to leading for the whole.
Professional Background
I run my own business in leadership development consultancy, and have 20 years experience working for and with organisations from many sectors across the world.
Previous to starting my own business I spent 14 years within Unilever in roles that included direct responsibility for the leadership development of Unilever’s most senior management and their successors on a global basis. I have also spent 8 years working in line management roles in factory environments.
I am an experienced keynote speaker at events ranging from 100-500 people, and am an associate with Steve Radcliffe Associates (Future Engage Deliver). I have a Masters in Organisational Consulting from Ashridge Business School and have spent 7 years as an associate with the London Business School.
